LEVELS OF DIFFICULTY. We offer three levels of guided nature hikes. No matter which level you choose, you should be acclimated to the mountain elevation for 3+ days.

Easy

An easy hike is a hike that is generally suitable for anyone who enjoys walking. There may be a moderate incline in parts but mostly level. Generally less than 3-4 miles. An example would be Barton Creek Loop in Breckenridge.

Moderate

A moderate hike is generally suitable for novice hikers who want a bit of a challenge. The terrain will involve a moderate incline and may have some steeper sections. Generally 4-6 miles, with less than a 1200 foot elevation gain. An example would be Salt Lick Trail in Silverthorne, CO.

Strenuous

Strenuous hikes will generally challenge most hikers. The trail will be longer and steeper than a moderate hike and would be very challenging for an unconditioned person. The terrain will involve a steady and often steep incline. Generally 6 to 9 miles and up to 2000 foot elevation gain. An example would be McCullough Gulch Trail in Breckenridge.
